Montessori method
The Montessori Method is an educational approach based on respect for the child, the natural course of development and the cultivation of independence within a carefully prepared learning environment.
Dr. Maria Montessori (1870–1952), an Italian physician and educator, discovered that every child possesses the inner potential to build their own personality. She recognised that the first six years of life are a unique and critical period of development, during which children effortlessly absorb experiences from their environment. When that environment is thoughtfully prepared to meet their developmental needs, children are able to realise their full potential and grow into independent, confident and responsible individuals.
