Mathematics
Montessori Mathematics materials introduce children to mathematical concepts through concrete, hands-on experiences. Children first develop a clear understanding of the relationship between quantity and numeral, building a solid foundation for mathematical thinking.
They are then introduced to the decimal system and gradually explore the four fundamental operations using specially designed Montessori materials. Through purposeful activity and exploration, abstract mathematical concepts become meaningful and easy to understand.
Culture
The Culture area broadens children’s understanding of the world and nurtures their natural curiosity and sense of wonder. Through engaging, hands-on activities and carefully prepared materials, children explore music, art, zoology, botany, geography, and many other aspects of the natural and human world.
Educational program
Practical Life activities are a child’s first introduction to the Montessori classroom. By working with real objects and everyday tools, children develop independence, coordination, concentration, confidence, and a sense of responsibility.
Activities include:
- personal care (buttoning, handwashing, polishing shoes, and more),
- care of the environment (sweeping, dusting, washing dishes, polishing mirrors, and more),
- food preparation (cutting fruit and vegetables, squeezing oranges, serving food, and more).
Children also participate in Grace and Courtesy circles, where they learn social skills, respect, kindness, and positive ways of interacting with others through role-playing activities.
Sensorial material
The Sensorial materials help children explore and understand the world through their senses. Using specially designed Montessori materials, they discover and classify qualities such as size, shape, colour, texture, sound, temperature, smell, and weight.
By observing, comparing, grading, and classifying, children refine their senses, develop logical thinking, strengthen concentration, and build a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Language
Language is a fundamental part of every child’s development. Through songs, poems, stories, riddles, rhymes, and rich language experiences, children expand their vocabulary and develop strong oral communication skills.
They are then introduced naturally to writing and reading through carefully designed Montessori materials that make literacy a joyful, hands-on, and meaningful experience.
In addition, children are introduced to the English language once a week through engaging activities led by our native English-speaking educator.
